You have on one end private businesses who are increasingly hostile towards workers because every person they hire has a distinct possibility of suing them for millions of dollars in frivolous law suits for no reason.
On the other end, you have regulations from every level of government from local city all the way up to federal (and soon World Government too).
And now, government is trying to make all new jobs be "green" whatever that means.

Do you agree that within 30 years, every single job in America will be a government job because private industry will flee or will be long since bankrupt?
Don’t rule it out.
The lowest jobs imaginable – such as coffee servers (a job a retard could do) are able to sue Starbucks for millions just because starbucks fired them.
When this continues, no business in their right mind will hire anyone if they know that sooner or later, the hamburger flipper or coffee-pourer will sue them for more money than 600 of them will earn in a life-time.
As a result, all businesses will say "screw it" and will either close down permanently, or move overseas (if feasible). THe number of jobs will plummet, and those that remain will be gov’t jobs because you can’t sue the Federal Gov’t .
Wilhelmia – the government pays out only what they want to pay out (if anything).

And when the government contols everything, even the sue-happy lawyers will be working for Uncle Sam, so they will be just as de-balled as everyone else. That’s the only good prospect from this… the friggin lawyers will finally have no one left to sue.

I don’t have a college degree or security clearance and I live in Montgomery Co. (I don’t know if that matters or not), but want to know how I get my foot in the door to get a good local Government job, any info I can get would be great!

Do you think that they earn more or less then people in the private sector with equivalent education and experience?
Do you think that the information re: how much is paid for each government job should be readily available?
What do you think about a website that would post the salaries for government jobs?

I have been trying to get a government job for a while now. Openings are few and far between and a lot of people apply for open jobs. I was wondering if volunteering for a Senator or local politicians campaign is a good way to get a leg up on a government job. I’m from Chicago so you can just donate money to get jobs like with Blagoyovich but was wondering if helping a campaign could get you a job?

I have an interview for a local government job tomorrow am. I am supposed to meet with a panel of 10 people. Every job I have ever had was within the private industry. Anyone know how this might play out or what to expect?? Thanks in advance for any help.

I have never interviewed for a government job before and I have an interview for the council as an entry level clerk.
Anyone have any advice to prepare for the interview?
